Director Vicky Zahed, popularly known as “Mr. Twist”, is set to begin work on his first feature film later this year. Rumors suggest that Afran Nisho will star in the project. It has been reported that the film is scheduled for release next year.
In a conversation with Times of Bangladesh, Vicky confirmed that he is preparing for the film, but not anything confirmed yet, “every director dream of making a film. As part of that dream, I’ve been working on various fiction. I’m preparing in different ways for this project, especially with the story and screenplay. Once everything is finalized, I will make the announcement.”
Though Vicky avoided revealing further details, it is confirmed that talks with Nisho as the lead character have been finalised.
The two have previously collaborated on hit dramas including ‘Punorjonmo’, ‘Bhuljonmo’, ‘Chirokal Aaj’ and ‘Redrum’.
“The audience likes me for thrillers and suspense,” said Vicky. “So my first film will be in that genre. I don’t want to experiment right away.”
While a romantic story was once rumoured, Vicky has not ruled it out for future projects. The upcoming film will be produced by Alpha-i Entertainment.
Meanwhile, his web series ‘Aka’ premieres on September 4 on Hoichoi, also starring Afran Nisho. In addition, his new drama ‘Khoabnama’ will soon be released on Capital Drama’s YouTube channel, featuring Tausif Mahbub in the lead.
A behind-the-scenes video showing Tausif in a grave surrounded by live snakes has already gone viral, though Vicky clarified that the drama is a romantic story, not horror.
Vicky first rose to prominence with his 2016 short film ‘Moments’, which he made while simultaneously balancing a corporate career.
