The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen has resigned.
Two ACC commissioners, Mia Mohammad Ali Akbar Azizi and Brigadier General (retd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid, who were appointed during the interim government, have also stepped down.
They submitted their resignation letters to the president through the Cabinet Division. The interim government had appointed them for a five-year term.
On 27 February, Momen attended an iftar gathering at the official residence of former adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan. After photos of the event circulated on social media, criticism followed, and speculation about their resignation grew stronger by Sunday.
Around 2:30pm on Tuesday, Momen met with Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani. Following the meeting, he submitted his resignation letter.
