An investigation officer testified on Tuesday against Sajeeb Wazed Joy and former state minister former state minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak in a case over the internet shutdown during the July movement.

IT expert and investigation officer Tanvir Hasan Joha gave his testimony before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on 3 March.

The case alleges that the ICT ministry shut down the internet in July–August 2024 in an attempt to conceal information about genocide from the outside world.

Prosecutors have named Joy and Palak as the alleged masterminds behind the plan.

Joy, the son of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, served as her ICT adviser. The prosecution alleges that the two implemented the plan in Bangladesh.
