Bollywood couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a rare public appearance together at designer Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party, drawing attention amid years of speculation about their marriage.
As stated by Prokerala, Abhishek wore a black kurta set, while Aishwarya looked elegant in a red traditional outfit with golden detailing. The couple posed for photographers and appeared affectionate towards each other.
In a video captured by IANS, Aishwarya was seen looking at Abhishek affectionately before resting her head on his chest. Abhishek also kept his fingers intertwined with hers as they posed for the cameras.
Their appearance comes amid persistent rumours of marital trouble, fuelled in part by their relatively infrequent joint public appearances. Abhishek has previously dismissed speculation about a possible divorce as “malicious and incorrect”.
Their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, did not accompany them to the event. She has frequently joined Aishwarya at public appearances.
Abhishek and Aishwarya first met professionally during the making of ‘Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke’ in 1999 and later worked together on ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’. Their friendship developed into a romance while working on films including ‘Umrao Jaan’ and ‘Dhoom 2’. Abhishek has said their relationship became serious during ‘Umrao Jaan’.
The couple also starred together in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Guru’ in 2007. Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya on a hotel balcony in New York while promoting the film.
They married in a private ceremony in Mumbai on 20 April 2007 and welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, on 16 November 2011.
