Police have recovered three revolvers, 73 rounds of live ammunition and various locally made weapons during an operation in the Pallabi police station area of Dhaka.
The weapons were recovered in an abandoned condition during a drive conducted by Pallabi police on Friday afternoon.
The operation was carried out in Block C of the Mirpur-11 area under Pallabi police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Police Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman disclosed the information in a press release.
According to the release, acting on a tip-off, Pallabi police conducted the operation and recovered three revolvers, 73 rounds of live ammunition, a revolver cover, a machete and two small knives from the third floor of the old City Corporation Market, a six-storey building in the Mirpur-11 area, where the items had been left abandoned.
Police said an investigation is underway to identify the source of the recovered weapons and those involved.
