Aamir Khan is set to marry his partner Gauri Spratt on July 5 in a private ceremony attended by close family members and friends, according to Indian media reports published on Wednesday.
The wedding is expected to be a small and intimate affair, with the couple reportedly opting for a simple signing ceremony at home rather than a large public celebration.
Sources quoted in reports said Aamir Khan and Spratt have been living together for more than a year and decided to formally mark their relationship in the presence of their families.
“Aamir and Gauri have been living together as a family for a little over a year now. They have built a happy, stable life together and decided to mark it formally with their families present,” a source said.
Aamir Khan spoke publicly about his relationship with Spratt in an interview earlier this year, describing himself as fortunate to have met her.
“I am very fortunate that I met Gaur and our relationship started together. She is great, I feel at peace with her,” he said.
Reflecting on his previous marriages to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan added, “Although my relationship with Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta was also very deep, things didn’t work out. When you asked, I felt that I am very blessed that Gauri entered my life. We are very happy together. I feel complete today.”
Aamir Khan introduced Spratt to the media on his 60th birthday in March last year and the couple have since appeared together at several public events.
The actor separated from his first wife, Reena Dutta, in 2002. They have two children, Junaid and Ira. Aamir Khan later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. The couple separated in 2021 and continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
Professionally, Aamir Khan returned to cinemas last year with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ following the commercial failure of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in 2022. He also made a cameo appearance in ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’.
He is currently awaiting the release of his production ‘Ek Din’, directed by Sunil Pandey and starring his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. The romantic drama is a remake of the 2016 Thai film ‘One Day’.
