Twenty-two years later, the same date brought him another reason to celebrate. His son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., scored his first goal for Portugal’s Under-16 team.
Ronaldo Jr. had made his debut for Portugal U-16 only three days earlier. He came off the bench against Turkey in the Federation Cup. In the next match against Wales, he started in the first half and made an early impact. In the 42nd minute, he scored with a low right-footed shot after a pass from Carlos Moita. Portugal won the game 3-0.
The young forward, who plays for Al Nassr’s youth team, quickly grabbed attention on social media. Fans noticed how similar his finishing looked to his father’s. Cristiano shared the goal video on his Instagram story with three fire emojis, showing his pride.
