A 31-member delegation led by ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman attended the ICC Academy Supply Chain Finance Summit 2025 held in Singapore on 22–23 October.

The event, inaugurated by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Secretary General John Denton, brought together more than 150 global leaders in trade, finance, policy, and technology, ICC Bangladesh said in a press statement.

ICC Bangladesh arranged the participation of 29 bankers from eight commercial banks and two officials from the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM).

ICC Bangladesh was also a partner of ICC Academy in organising the summit on Wednesday.
Centred on the theme “Rebuilding trust, driving innovation: the future of supply chain finance in a fragmented world,” the two-day summit focused on strategies to address rising geopolitical tensions, digital disruption, and the increasing demand for sustainability and transparency in supply chain finance.

Panel sessions covered key issues including restoring trust and ensuring governance across complex supply chains, liquidity management amid volatile markets, and the emergence of new funding models where alternative lenders and digital platforms are reshaping access to working capital.

Experts also discussed technological transformations—ranging from blockchain and artificial intelligence to digital documentation—and how these are driving efficiency and redefining risk management in trade finance.

A fireside chat titled “The New SCF Playbook” explored tariffs, trade tensions, and strategies for multinational buyers and financial institutions navigating market fragmentation.

The summit concluded with discussions on future career paths in trade finance and the evolving skillsets required for the workforce, followed by a debate on whether Decentralized Finance (DeFi) poses a threat or an opportunity to traditional banking.

The event reaffirmed the ICC Academy’s commitment to establishing global standards and providing world-class knowledge resources to trade professionals addressing the complexities of modern supply chains.
