During the first session of the National Cricket League (NCL), Barisal Division batter Fazle Mahmud Rabbi suddenly collapsed near the boundary line after the 19th over.
Seeing his condition, the opposing team’s batter Soumya Sarkar quickly ran to help. Rabbi was placed on a stretcher and moved toward an ambulance. Later, he felt better and did not need to go to the hospital.
The 27th edition of the National Cricket League started on Saturday, October 25. In this top first-class tournament, Barisal faced the hosts Khulna. Rabbi, who played two matches for the national team seven years ago, reportedly fell ill due to the heat.
Match referee Akheruzzaman Khan confirmed the incident to the media and said Rabbi was not taken to the hospital as he was feeling well. More details will be shared later.
