The Department of Narcotics Control has arrested a drug dealer named Fayez Ahmed with yaba tablets, a pistol, and bullets from Begumganj in Noakhali.
District Department of Narcotics Control Deputy Director Subrata Sarker Shubho confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning.
He was arrested around 9:15pm on Tuesday from a house in Nanu Pur under Ward 9 of Rajganj Union in the upazila.
Locals said that identified drug dealer Fayez Ahmed had been involved in drug trading in the area for a long time. Recently, in an attempt to establish dominance in the drug trade, he collected an illegal pistol and four rounds of bullets.
After verifying intelligence information, the Department of Narcotics Control, with the assistance of RAB-11, conducted a joint operation.
During the raid, he was arrested from his house with one pistol, four rounds of bullets, and 36 pieces of yaba tablets.
Noakhali Department of Narcotics Control Deputy Director Subrata Sarker Shubho said that two separate cases have been filed against the accused under the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act at Begumganj Police Station. He will be produced before the judicial court in connection with the cases.
