BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that politics based on old and outdated patterns and ways of thinking will no longer work, emphasising the need for vision and foresight in political leadership.
“People must be inspired through new ideas, especially the younger generation,” he said.
He made the remarks on Saturday morning while addressing the ‘Zia Swimming Carnival’ organised by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP at Zia Udyan in the capital.
Highlighting the urgency for change in political thinking, Amir Khosru added, “The changes that have come in politics must be accepted. People want to see BNP as an ideal party. If we fail to embrace that, we will not be able to build this country.”
He further noted, “Significant changes are happening in the mindset of the people, and these must be recognised and accepted. If we fail to do so, the politics of the future will not survive. We talk about making politics democratic in the country, but we do not talk about making sports democratic. Sports must also be made democratic so that every citizen gets a chance to participate.”
Amir Khosru also spoke about his vision for a new Bangladesh, saying, “We have pledged to build a new Bangladesh. Here, not only politics but also the economy will be democratised. An economy will be built where everyone can participate, and every citizen can enjoy development and economic benefits.”
The event was presided over by BNP Sports Secretary and Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Convener Aminul Haque, with Member Secretary Mostafa Zaman serving as the host.
