Bangladeshi supermodel Nibir Adnan made waves at New York Fashion Week, held from September 10 to 14 at Sony Hall in Manhattan.
The world-renowned event showcased more than 130 international designers, with brands from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Japan, the UK and Portugal among the participants.
Before the main event, Nibir took part in the CG Models casting round on September 8, where he was selected from over 3,000 contestants to walk the runway. Over three days, he modelled collections from five international labels: OforBH (UK), Monster (Austin, Texas), The Tokyo Vibes (Japan), Runway Seven Fashion (New York, LA, Miami) and Emma Ritz (Tokyo).
Speaking about the experience, Nibir described it as both a personal milestone and a proud moment for Bangladesh, “Walking on the same stage with international celebrities and receiving their praise was unforgettable. This isn’t just an honour for me, but for my country as well.”
Beyond NYFW, she also appeared at the International Heritage Fashion Week on September 11 and is set to feature in Couture Fashion Week on September 20.
Nibir has already worked with almost every major Bangladeshi brand. Internationally, she has modelled for Amazon India, Raymond and Spyker in Mumbai, and became the brand ambassador for Italian luxury label Bulgari Perfume. He has also collaborated with brands in London and Dubai.
Now, the supermodel is expanding his career into acting. This year, Nibir made his silver-screen debut in the film ‘Esha Murder’.
