A mother and her young daughter were killed when a truck collided with their CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kahalu Upazila of Bogura. The auto-rickshaw driver was injured in the accident.
The deceased were identified as Ainun Nahar Asha, 37, wife of Ratan from Indil village in Adamdighi, and her six-year-old daughter Arat.
The accident occurred around 8:30 pm on Monday near Dorgahat Bazar in Narhatt Union.
Kahalu Police Officer-in-Charge Nitai Chandra Sarkar said Asha was traveling to Bogura with her daughter in a CNG auto-rickshaw when an unidentified truck rammed into their vehicle near Bhandar Factory. Ainun Nahar died on the spot.
Local fire service personnel rescued the injured Arat and the auto-rickshaw driver and took them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Arat dead.
The OC added that authorities are trying to identify the truck, and legal action will be taken in connection with the incident.
