Rail communication between Dhaka and two major regions Chattogram and Sylhet was disrupted on Thursday after a compartment of the Titas commuter train went off the tracks at Talshahar Railway Station in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria.

According to Ashok Chandra Das, assistant station master of Brahmanbaria Railway Station, the Dhaka-bound commuter’s bogie derailed around 12:30 pm, forcing a suspension of train movement on the down line of the Dhaka–Chattogram–Sylhet route, reports UNB.

He added that a relief train had already departed from Akhaura Junction and was on its way to recover the derailed coach and restore services.
