DIU, Chinese Embassy host ‘Voice of Peace’ China-Bangladesh Singing Competition 2025

Daffodil International University (DIU), in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh, hosted the “Voice of Peace” China-Bangladesh Singing Competition on 18 August 2025. The event commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.

The competition saw participation from students, faculty, and staff members of DIU, North South University, BRAC University, University of Dhaka, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, and the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh. Participants performed patriotic, wartime, and peace-themed songs in both Bangla and Chinese, showcasing cultural harmony and shared values.

Awards were presented for outstanding performances, with special mentions such as Spirit of Heritage, Cross-Language Performance, Best Historical Reenactment, and International Friendship Bridge. The 1st Prize was awarded to Ms. Sun Ruoge from the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh for her remarkable performance of the song “Guo Jia.”

Professor Mohammed Masum Iqbal, PhD, Pro Vice Chancellor of DIU, graced the event as Chief Guest. He handed over the prizes and shared his insights on the role of youth in building peace. The program was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests from the Chinese Embassy, directors of Confucius Institutes in Bangladesh, and cultural experts.

Jointly organized by the Office of International Affairs and the DIU Belt and Road Research Centre, the initiative aimed to engage youth in preserving the spirit of resistance, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and celebrating the enduring message of peace.
