Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Dhaka has arrested Arman, one of the accused in the journalist Tuhin murder case in Gazipur. After being detained Monday night, he was handed over to police. With this arrest, law enforcement agencies have now apprehended all eight accused in the case.
Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Rabbiul Hasan stated: “Arman was directly involved in Tuhin’s killing. He’s the individual wearing a blue shirt in the CCTV footage. We’d been searching for him for several days before RAB detained him in Dhaka and transferred him to us.”
Earlier on Saturday, GMP Commissioner Nazmul Karim Khan had informed media that CCTV analysis confirmed eight individuals’ direct involvement in the murder, with seven already in custody.

While one suspect named Shahidul was initially detained, he was later released after investigators found no substantive evidence against him.
The incident occurred last Thursday around 8pm at Chandana Chowrasta, where journalist Tuhin – Gazipur correspondent for Daily Protidiner Kagoj – was brutally stabbed to death while filming an attack on a civilian by a “notorious terrorist and mugging syndicate.” Tuhin, who lived in Chandana with his wife and two children, also worked for a pharmaceutical company alongside journalism.
Two cases were filed at Basan Police Station regarding the incident. The autopsy report revealed multiple sharp weapon injuries across Tuhin’s body, particularly on his chest and neck, confirming he was hacked to death.
