BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has categorically said ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina will never again be given a chance to do politics in this country.
“Fascist Hasina and her party members are issuing various threats from India,” he added.
Fakhrul made these remarks on Sunday afternoon while speaking at a central rally of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Shahbagh in Dhaka, marking the anniversary of the July mass uprising.
Fakhrul further said, “From today’s rally, we must pledge that we will never again allow fascist Hasina to engage in politics in this country. We will bow to no one.”
The rally began around 2pm. Roads were closed from Shahbagh to Katabon, InterContinental intersection, Shahbagh police station, and Matsya Bhaban, disrupting traffic in those areas. However, ambulances were allowed to pass.
In his address, Mirza Fakhrul alleged that efforts are underway to create division within Bangladesh. He urged everyone to unite against it.
He clearly said, “We won’t bow down to anyone. Under the leadership of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, we will build a self-reliant Bangladesh.”
