Singer Shan Shaik won listeners’ hearts with his song ‘Konna re’, released nine years ago. Meanwhile, Kona and Imran Mahmudul captivated audiences with ‘Konna’, a song from the film ‘Jinn 3’, released last year.
Both songs feature the word ‘Konna’ in their titles and continue to enjoy widespread popularity, with millions of views on YouTube and endless love from listeners.
Dhruba Music Station released ‘Konna re’ in 2017. M R Khan wrote and composed the song, while the music director was Rokon Emon. Shuvabrata Sarker directed the music video, which featured Shaan Shaik alongside model Sushmita Sinha. The story was penned by Moumita Bisshwas.
The song struck a chord with listeners soon after its release. Over the past nine years, its music video has garnered more than 30 million views on YouTube. Nearly 8,000 viewers have also shared their appreciation for the song.
Reflecting on its popularity, Shan Shaik said, “When ‘Konna re’ came out, I never imagined it would become this popular. As time passed, its popularity continued to grow, and the song became a favourite among listeners and viewers. I am deeply grateful to them and to Dhruba Music Station. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the lyricist and composer.”
Shan noted that the song has retained its popularity even after nine years. “Whenever I perform at a stage show, wherever it may be, I have to sing this song. I genuinely enjoy the audience’s requests. To be honest, hit original songs are particularly important for singers. They help an artist become widely recognised,” he said.
Meanwhile, the song ‘Konna’ from the film ‘Jinn 3’ was released on 24 March last year. Robiul Islam Jibon wrote the lyrics, while Imran Mahmudul composed and directed the music while Kona and Imran were on vocals. Actors Sajal and Nusrat Faria appear in the music video.
Released on the YouTube channel of Jaaz Multimedia, the video has garnered nearly 100 million views to date. More than 16,000 viewers have also shared their opinions about the song.
Speaking about ‘Konna’, Kona said, “Before ‘Konna’ came out, several of my original songs had already received tremendous appreciation from listeners. When I recorded this song, I was confident that audiences would enjoy the track sung by Imran and me. The song created a sensation as soon as it was released.”
Kona added, “Since then, whenever I have performed at stage shows at home and abroad, I have had to sing ‘Konya’. If Imran is also performing at the show, singing this song becomes a must. In any case, I am grateful to everyone involved in the song, as well as to the listeners and viewers.”
