After gaining attention for her association with Dhurandhar and its sequel, actor Sara Arjun could be heading towards another major project. She is reportedly in talks to play the female lead opposite Telugu star Ram Charan in his next film, tentatively titled RC17.
According to NDTV, the project will reunite Ram Charan with director Sukumar after their successful collaboration on Rangasthalam. Reports suggest that Sara has been considered for the female lead and liked the script. However, the makers have yet to officially confirm her casting.
The team is reportedly planning a grand launch around Dussehra, while filming could begin in December. The script is ready, and pre-production work is under way. If the casting comes through, the film would mark another significant step in Sara’s career.
Ram Charan took a break after his latest release, Peddi, to recover from an injury that required surgery. He is now working on his fitness ahead of his next collaboration with Sukumar.
The film’s music composer has also become a subject of speculation. According to Mid-Day, the makers are considering Anirudh Ravichander and Shashwat Sachdev, whose recent work includes Dhurandhar. Sukumar has frequently worked with composer Devi Sri Prasad, so the possibility of a new musical collaboration has drawn attention.
Neither composer has been officially confirmed for the project.
Mythri Movie Makers will produce the untitled film, which is reportedly targeting a theatrical release in 2028. Ram Charan and Sukumar’s previous collaboration, Rangasthalam, received strong audience appreciation, raising expectations for their reunion.
The makers have kept the film’s plot and further casting details under wraps while pre-production continues.
Sara will also portray Madhubala in an upcoming untitled production directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, who previously directed Alia Bhatt’s film Darlings. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is backing the project. The makers have not yet announced a release date.
