Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to ensure cleanliness, regular maintenance and necessary renovation of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises while preserving architectural character of the Parliament complex.
He issued the directives during an inspection of the protected Parliament premises on Thursday afternoon.
The Prime Minister toured the grounds, gardens and various sections of the complex, reviewing the overall environment, infrastructure and cleanliness of the areas surrounding the Parliament building.
He stressed the need for regular care and proper maintenance to preserve the beauty and environment of the Jatiya Sangsad Plaza.
Alongside keeping the grounds and gardens clean, he instructed officials to take measures to increase greenery and ensure proper care of existing trees.
The Prime Minister also directed the authorities to identify areas requiring repairs in and around the Sangsad Plaza and complete the necessary renovation work.
