Coke Studio Bangla Season 4 would release its fifth song, Mothura, a semi-classical track built around the longing of a love that never finds fulfilment.
Written and composed by Ankan Kumar Roy, the song features vocals by Sanjida Mahmud Nandita and Ankan himself. Shuvendu Das Shuvo handled the musical arrangement.
Mothura explores the emotions of two people whose hearts remain connected even though their lives follow separate paths.
Like parallel lines that run alongside each other without ever meeting, their relationship remains suspended between closeness and separation.
The song draws on the timeless yearning found in stories such as Radha-Krishna, Romeo-Juliet and Laila-Majnu. It reflects on how love that never becomes reality can continue to survive through memories, poetry and music.
The combined vocals of Nandita and Ankan bring out the song’s sense of separation, unspoken emotions and enduring affection.
Mothura would be released at 7pm on Thursday across Coke Studio Bangla’s official digital platforms and channels.
