Dhallywood megastar Shakib Khan is set to return to the shooting floor of his much-awaited film ‘Soldier’ after completing a nearly two-month stay in the United States.
Shakib returned to Dhaka on 1 September after travelling to the US on 2 July for personal and business commitments. Following his return, he began preparing to resume his film work and was scheduled to join the shooting of ‘Soldier’ the following week to complete the remaining portions.
Directed by Shakeeb Fahad, ‘Soldier’ is an action-oriented film built around patriotism, corruption and human emotion. The story follows an ordinary man’s struggle against corruption and syndicates.
The film stars Shakib Khan alongside Tanjin Tisha and Jannatul Ferdous Oishee. Veteran actors Tariq Anam Khan and Tauquir Ahmed are also part of the cast, with Tauquir playing a negative role.
For Oishee, ‘Soldier’ marks her first collaboration with Shakib Khan. She recently said a considerable portion of the film had already been completed, with some shooting still remaining. She has also been preparing for the final schedule, including adjustments to her appearance for the character.
After completing ‘Soldier’, Shakib is expected to move on to his next project, ‘Nissho’, directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy. Kolkata actress Idhika Paul is set to star opposite him.
Speaking after his return to Bangladesh, Shakib said his focus is now on his upcoming projects. He said he wants to continue working on films with strong stories, characters and overall execution.
With the remaining shoot now set to resume, ‘Soldier’ is moving towards the final phase of production.
