A woman was shot by unidentified assailants who opened fire through the window of her home while she was watching television in the capital’s Darus Salam area Saturday night.
The victim, Jesmin Begum, 38, wife of Abdul Mannan of Matbor Bari Masjid Goli, was injured in the attack, UNB reports.
Her son Yasin said Jesmin was watching TV with the window open around 8:30pm when gunmen fired through it before fleeing. A bullet struck her right hand, leaving her seriously injured.
Yasin first took his mother to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. She was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10:50pm for advanced treatment.
The DMCH police camp inspector confirmed the incident.
