A well-marked low over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand has moved west-northwestward and now lies over West Jharkhand and adjoining areas, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The system is likely to weaken into a low-pressure area within the next 12 hours, said a BMD bulletin in the morning. Meanwhile, the monsoon remains strong over North Bay.
