Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Brig Gen (retd) AKM Shamsul Islam held a courtesy meeting with Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mohd Shuhada Othman, at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday.

Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing professional skills of the armed forces, organising regular joint military training, exchanging specialised courses and training, and strengthening overall capacity.

Discussions also touched on the transfer of modern military technology, exchange of information and experience, support in military equipment and logistics, and prospects for joint partnerships in defense equipment production.

The Malaysian high commissioner praised the sacrifice, discipline, and professionalism of Bangladesh’s armed forces in United Nations peacekeeping missions, noting their contribution as a shining example in the international arena.

The defense adviser expressed optimism that the fraternal ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia would be further consolidated through defense and strategic cooperation.
