As part of a three‑day tour of five northern districts, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen visited Banglabandha land port and Zero Point, accompanied by his wife, Deanne Dao.
He arrived at the land port in Panchagarh’s Tetulia, visited the port area, and Bangladesh’s Zero Point on Monday morning.
The ambassador enjoyed the natural beauty of the Bangladesh‑India border and was seen taking photos on his mobile phone to preserve the memories.
Deputy Chief of Mission Megan Bouldin and a team from the US embassy were also present.
After inspecting the port, the ambassador headed to Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital to review activities and join a health sector grant and exchange session. Earlier in the day, he also visited the Mahananda River.
Christensen had arrived in Tetulia on Sunday afternoon, where he visited the historic District Council Dak Bungalow and stayed overnight.
His trip prompted heightened preparations by the local administration and stakeholders in Tetulia, Banglabandha land port, and Panchagarh.
