Netflix’s One Piece is expanding its Alabasta world with four new cast members. Emilio Sakraya, Omid Abtahi, Jamie Ward and Nabeel Khan will take recurring roles in the third season, officially titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta. The casting announcement came during One Piece Day in Tokyo, while production has now wrapped in Cape Town, South Africa.
Deadline reported that Sakraya will play Koza, Abtahi will portray Toto, Ward will take on Pell and Khan will play Chaka.
The new additions join returning stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Season 3 will also feature previously announced newcomers Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1. More casting announcements are expected later.
The new season will take Luffy and the Straw Hat crew into Alabasta, Princess Vivi’s desert homeland, where a rebellion threatens to tear the kingdom apart. Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, secretly fuels the conflict through his criminal organisation, Baroque Works.
The Straw Hats must confront a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord while trying to save Vivi’s kingdom from collapse.
Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda also serve as executive producers through Tomorrow Studios. Netflix has confirmed the season for 2027.
