Shraddha Kapoor may opt for a producer credit instead of a reported ₹20 crore acting fee for the upcoming Ashneer Grover biopic, choosing a share in the film’s intellectual property rights (IPR).
According to The Times of India, Shraddha is reportedly set to play Madhuri Jain Grover, wife of Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover. She was earlier reported to be receiving around ₹20 crore for the role. However, she may now take a backend deal that could give her a stake in the film’s IPR and profits.
The film is written and directed by entrepreneur-screenwriter Rahul Mody, who is also reportedly Shraddha’s beau.
Under such arrangements, actors accept a lower upfront payment in exchange for a share of the project’s earnings. Akshay Kumar has reportedly followed a similar model for Welcome to the Jungle. According to reports, he took ₹1.8 crore initially but later earned more than ₹35 crore through his share after the film performed well.
Reports have also linked Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar to similar IPR-based arrangements.
Shraddha is reportedly receiving ₹12 crore–₹15 crore for Eetha. Her reported ₹20 crore fee for the Grover biopic could now be replaced by a producer credit and IPR stake.
However, the reports have not been officially confirmed.
