Bangladeshi singer Milana Momin has made her long-awaited return to original music with the release of her latest single, Tomar Kolorob, ending a hiatus of several years.
Known for her distinctive voice and expressive singing style, Milana had stepped away from releasing new original songs due to personal commitments.
However, she says music has remained an inseparable part of her life throughout that time.
The new track was recently released on the singer’s official YouTube channel.
Written by Someshwar Oli, the song has been arranged by Sajid Sarker.
Speaking about her comeback, Milana said she had always nurtured music in her heart despite taking a break from recording.
“Music is an inseparable part of my life. I may have taken some time away, but I never stopped carrying melodies within me. I wanted to return with a song that reflects the quality my listeners expect from me. I hope Tomar Kolrob touches their hearts,” she said.
Milana also received six years of training in Nazrul Sangeet at Chhayanaut, one of Bangladesh’s leading music institutions.
She has released more than half a dozen original songs during her career.
Her fourth original single, Opekkhar Naam, released in 2022, was written and composed by Lutfor Hasan and received an enthusiastic response from listeners.
Other notable songs in her catalogue include Golpo Theke Golpo and Moner Dorja.
Milana first performed on stage at the age of seven.
Although academic commitments temporarily limited her musical activities, she says she is now fully focused on music again and plans to release songs regularly in the coming months.
