A 30 year old man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle due to heavy rain on the Senbag Sonaimuri road in Noakhali on Thursday night.
The victim identified as Md Al Amin, was the son of Abbas Kari of Rashid Bepari house in West Dakshinpara village under Chhatarpaia Union. The tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over the area, as Al Amin had been married just three days ago, on Monday.
According to local sources and eyewitnesses, the accident occurred around 9:30pm in the Kutir Bari area of the upazila. Al Amin was travelling from Sonaimuri to his village back when his motorcycle skidded on the slippery road amidst heavy rain.
Locals rescued the critically injured youth and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where the attending physician declared him dead.
Senbag Police Station officer in charge Mohammad Abdul Rahim Sarkar said that police arrived at the scene after receiving the news. He added that further legal proceedings would be initiated regarding the incident.
