The High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Habiganj-4 lawmaker Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman in an attempted murder case filed in Habiganj.
A bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Md Zakir Hossain passed the order.
Advocate Lutfey Jahan appeared for Suman during the hearing.
Suman was arrested from the Mirpur-6 area of Dhaka at around 1:30am on 21 October, 2024.
Since his arrest, he has been facing multiple criminal cases filed in Dhaka and Habiganj.
A former central legal affairs secretary of the Jubo League, Barrister Suman was elected as an independent candidate from the Habiganj-4 constituency in the 12th parliamentary election.
Details of the allegations in the Habiganj attempted murder case were not immediately available.
