The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP has arrested five suspected muggers while they were allegedly preparing to commit a crime in Karwan Bazar area of the capital.
The arrestees have been identified as Raihan, 20, Md Nur Alam, 25, Md Hridoy, 26, Md Mehedi Hasan, 38, and Md Jewel, 30.
According to CTTC sources, an operational team from its Transnational Division conducted a raid in Karwan Bazar area under Tejgaon Police Station around 11:50pm on Tuesday.
The drive was conducted based on secret information that a group of miscreants was gathering in the locality for muggings.
The arrested individuals have been sent to court.
