SEU welcomes Summer 2026 students with 3 orientations

Southeast University (SEU) welcomed newly admitted students for the Summer 2026 semester through a two-day Freshers’ Reception and Orientation Programme held on 28 and 29 June at the university’s Multipurpose Hall, the university said in a press release.

The programme was conducted in three separate sessions for different academic schools and departments. Distinguished guests from academia and industry addressed the new students, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence, discipline and personal development throughout their university life.

The opening session, held on 28 June for students of the School of Arts and Social Sciences, featured Professor Mohammad Nurul Huda, former Director General of Bangla Academy, as chief guest.

The second session, held on the morning of 29 June, welcomed students from the departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Textile Engineering, Architecture and Information and Communication Technology. Raisul Kabir, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brain Station 23, attended as chief guest.

The final session, held later the same day, welcomed students of the Southeast Business School. Fahima Akhter, Director of Masco Group and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), attended as chief guest.

The first session was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, while the second and third sessions were chaired by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain.

Major General Md Anwarul Islam (Retd), Registrar of Southeast University, along with the deans and heads of various departments, welcomed the newly admitted students.

The speakers encouraged students to develop punctuality, discipline and a strong sense of purpose while pursuing continuous self-improvement and academic excellence. They also urged students to prepare for future challenges and make full use of the academic opportunities available at Southeast University’s permanent campus in Tejgaon, according to the press release.
