Prime Bank PLC has retained its highest credit ratings of AAA for long-term and ST-1 for short-term creditworthiness, reaffirmed by the Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh Limited (CRAB), said in a press release. The Dhaka-based lender secured the ratings in June 2026 following a comprehensive assessment of its financial performance, governance standards and risk management framework, underscoring its continued position as one of Bangladesh’s strongest banking institutions.

The ratings reflect the bank’s robust capital position, strong liquidity, sound asset quality and consistent business performance. According to CRAB, the AAA rating indicates an exceptionally strong capacity to meet long-term financial obligations, while the ST-1 rating represents the highest level of certainty in timely repayment of short-term liabilities.

CRAB conducted an extensive review of Prime Bank’s financial statements, operational performance, governance practices, risk management systems and overall business outlook before reaffirming the ratings. The assessment also considered the bank’s resilience under evolving market conditions and its ability to maintain stability in a competitive banking environment.

Faisal Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank PLC, said the sustained ratings reflect the strength of the bank’s fundamentals, customer trust and stakeholder confidence. He added that the recognition underscores the dedication of the bank’s workforce and its ongoing commitment to sustainable growth, prudent risk management and long-term value creation.

He said maintaining top-tier ratings year after year demonstrates the institution’s financial resilience and governance discipline, noting that each reaffirmation serves as an endorsement of its long-term strategic direction.

The continuation of AAA and ST-1 ratings reinforces Prime Bank’s standing within Bangladesh’s banking sector as a financially sound and trusted institution capable of navigating changing economic conditions while delivering long-term value to stakeholders.
