Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9am on Wednesday.
In a bulletin issued this morning, the Met Office said: “Light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions.”
It further added that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave is continuing over Khulna division, along with the districts of Manikganj, Nilphamari and Rajshahi, and the Met Office said the condition may persist.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 36.8°C in Jashore, while the lowest temperature today was 22.5°C in Narsingdi.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:48pm today and rise at 5:11am tomorrow.
