Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken a strict stance against push‑ins. In the past 24 hours, BGB thwarted eight separate attempts by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push people into Bangladesh.
In Naogaon’s Kormudanga border under 16 BGB, BSF attempted to push in 17 people. BGB patrols immediately repelled them, said a press release.
At Borkhata and Poyoshottibari borders in Teesta under 61 BGB, 21 individuals tried to cross the border. BGB’s quick response stopped them from entering.
In Lalmonirhat under 15 BGB, seven people attempted to cross the Digholtari border. BGB patrol team blocked them immediately. At Durgapur border under the same battalion, four more individuals were stopped by the troops. Currently, they remain in unfenced Indian char areas under close BGB watch.
Meanwhile in Panchagarh, BSF brought 10 people outside the fence at Borobari Pradhanpara border under 56 battalion of BGB.
A flag meeting was held at company commander level regarding the issue. BSF claimed the individuals were Bangladeshi nationals but failed to provide proof. BGB is monitoring the situation closely, the release said.
At Kochugora border in Netrokona under 31 BGB, 16–17 people had earlier gathered near an Indian school. BSF later moved them to the Chikni camp area after BGB’s firm stance. BGB remains on high alert in the area.
In Jhenaidah’s Maheshpur, three people attempted to enter Bangladesh territory from India. BGB patrol team blocked them at the zero line, forcing them to retreat at Jadabpur border.
BGB reiterated that push‑in attempts violate international border management, existing laws, and Bangladesh‑India agreements.
It stressed that no individual or group will be allowed to enter Bangladesh illegally. BGB affirmed its commitment to sovereignty and border security and said it is fully prepared to face any situation.
