Maksons Spinning has decided to surrender a 10-acre industrial plot at the National Special Economic Zone at Mirsharai and Feni amid business challenges, according to its regulatory disclosure to the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.
The company referred to its earlier letters dated 11 November and 6 December 2020 regarding the acquisition of the plot.
It said the decision comes in view of the “current global economic conditions and the sluggish performance of the textiles sector.”
Maksons Spinning added that it may consider acquiring an industrial plot from the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority in the future once overall economic conditions improve.
