Mobile financial services provider UCB Fintech Company Limited (upay) has appointed Shyamol Boran Das as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 25 years of experience in digital banking and financial services.
According to the company, Das has joined with a track record in mobile financial services, digital banking, retail and SME solutions, agent banking and card services.
He previously served as Additional Managing Director of Nagad, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer of Meghna Bank, Chief Digital Officer of BRAC Bank and CEO of BRAC IT Services Limited.
The company said he has led the development of digital platforms and built operational teams across multiple financial institutions.
Das holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Bangalore University and a master’s degree from Royal Holloway, University of London.
He also completed professional programmes and certifications from institutions including Harvard, Oxford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cornell and the London School of Economics.
The board of UCB Fintech welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence that the new leadership will support the company’s growth and expansion of digital services, it added.
