Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League player transfer activity continued on its second day at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, with several high-profile moves taking place on Sunday.
Bangladesh’s white-ball captains Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das took part in the player registration at the CCDM office and have joined Legends of Rupganj. The duo completed their transfers on the eve of the second ODI against New Zealand, after finishing training sessions.
There had been uncertainty over Rupganj’s participation in this year’s Premier League, which begins on May 4. However, after a phone call from BCB president Tamim Iqbal, club owner Lutfar Rahman Badal became positive about forming a competitive squad.
In last season’s DPL, Miraz led Mohammedan Sporting Club, while Litton initially went without a team before later turning out for Gulshan Cricket Club. This time, the two will represent Rupganj together for the first time.
Alongside Miraz and Litton, Rupganj have also added national team players Saif Hassan, Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam. The squad further includes promising youngsters such as Habibur Rahman Sohan, Ashikur Rahman Shibli, Samium Bashir, and Swadhin Islam.
