A minimum of Tk3.05 crore is assured for Bangladesh for playing in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The event will take place in England and Wales in two months. Before the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize pool. It is the biggest in the history of Women’s World Cups.
The previous edition was held in 2024. This time, the total prize money has gone up by 10 percent. It now stands at $8,764,615, which is about Tk108 crore.
In 2024, there were 10 teams and the prize pool was $7,958,077. This year, the number of teams has increased to 12. The rise in teams has also increased the total prize money.
The winning team will get $2.34 million, which is more than Tk28.8 crore. The runners up will receive $1.17 million, which is over Tk14.4 crore.
Each losing semi finalist will get $675,000. Teams will also earn $31,154 for every match they win in the group stage.
Even if a team does not win a match, it will still get money. Every team will receive at least $247,500, which is around Tk3.05 crore.
