The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has suspended all types of leave for doctors, officials, and health workers across health institutions due to a rise in measles-associated pneumonia among children.
According to an office order signed on Thursday by DGHS Director (Administration) Dr Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi, the decision was taken to ensure uninterrupted medical services during the current emergency and to accelerate the measles vaccination programme.
Both earned leaves and casual leaves are included in this suspension.
The directive, issued in public interest, is effective immediately and applies to all medical college hospitals, specialised hospitals, Civil Surgeon offices, and Upazila Health Complexes. The order will remain in force until further notice.
