A college student was killed in a road accident in Baliakandi of Rajbari while returning with motorcycle fuel.
The victim, Md Mahathir Mondal, 18, son of Abdul Barek Molla died on the spot after losing control of the motorcycle on a bridge on Tuesday afternoon, according to local sources.
Locals said he was heading to Rajbari to collect fuel using his brother-in-law’s motorcycle.
He lost control of the vehicle while crossing the bridge and was thrown onto the road or the bridge railing.
He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
A pall of grief has descended on his family and the local community following the incident.
Baliakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Rob Talukdar said further legal steps are underway.
