The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are tentatively scheduled to commence on 7 June this year, according to a preliminary decision by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.

Sources at the Dhaka Education Board stated that a proposal has been drafted designating June 7 as the potential start date. This proposal will be submitted to the Ministry of Education shortly, and the examinations will proceed from that date upon receiving formal ministerial approval.

In a significant move to standardise the assessment process, the committee has also reached a preliminary decision regarding the examination format. For the first time, the HSC examinations across the nine general education boards will be conducted using unified question papers.

While the Madrasa and Technical Education Boards have previously utilised identical question papers, officials confirmed that the new strategy will bring all 11 education boards under a single, unified question paper system for this year’s examinations.
