Banglalink observed International Women’s Day 2026 through a series of initiatives from 5 March to 9 March aimed at promoting inclusion, community engagement and workplace dialogue on women’s rights.
The programmes, held under the theme “From Rights to Reality”, included volunteer activities with marginalised communities, awareness sessions, employee discussions and recognition initiatives, the company said in a statement.
The observance began on 5 March with a community volunteer programme organised with Aparajeyo Bangladesh, where Banglalink employees interacted with underprivileged children and mothers from marginalised communities.
About 75 beneficiaries and 25 volunteers took part in the programme, which included a creative art session for children and a health awareness session led by a medical professional focusing on hygiene, health practices and menstrual awareness.
Employee volunteers also staged a short drama highlighting social challenges faced by women, including stigma, lack of awareness and unequal opportunities, while emphasising the importance of girls’ education and family support.
The week-long observance concluded on 9 March with an internal programme at Tigers’ Den, Banglalink’s headquarters, bringing employees together for discussions on workplace inclusion and collective action.
The event featured a panel discussion with Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances Member Dr Nabila Idris and Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates corporate lawyer Barrister Nazia Kabir, who shared perspectives on rights, justice and opportunities for women.
“At Banglalink, we believe creating an inclusive workplace goes beyond policies; it requires everyday actions, empathy and support for one another,” said Banglalink Acting Chief Human Resources Officer Ruhul Quader.
The programme also recognised the winner of Banglalink’s He4She initiative and marked the continuation of the Banglalink Women’s Network with the announcement of its 2026 committee.
