A group of pro-BNP lawyers held a protest rally at Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday, expressing concern over alleged disorder and chaos within the association.
The Supreme Court unit of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum organised a demonstration on the SCBA premises, chaired by member secretary Touhidur Rahman.
During the rally, lawyers Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajol, Mohammad Ali, Sharif U Ahmed, Mahbubur Rahman, and Kazi Zainul Abedin addressed the participants, alleging that although fascism had fallen, its allies within the legal profession continued to conspire.
They stressed that there should be no room for authoritarian influences in the Supreme Court and called for the Bar Association to remain peaceful.
Following the speeches, the forum organised a protest procession that began from the Bar Association premises, marched around the ground and second floors and concluded in front of the association president’s chamber.
Participants raised anti-Awami League slogans during the demonstration.
