Sri Lanka’s Minister of Health and Media, Nalinda Jayatissa, will represent his country at the oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet led by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
According to a message received in Dhaka, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andalib Elias, saw the minister off at Colombo airport on Monday morning.
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will assume office as prime minister on Tuesday following his party’s massive victory in Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election held on 12 February.
The participation of the Sri Lankan minister in the oath-taking ceremony is seen as a testament to the strong and cordial bilateral relations between the two nations.
