Rajshahi Stars completed a flawless Women’s Football League campaign on 13 February 2026, sealing the title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Bangladesh Army Sports Club in the final round.
Amid the wider national focus on Bangladesh’s general election, the decisive league fixtures kicked off in the morning, with Rajshahi entering the match knowing a draw would be enough to secure the championship. Instead, Rituparna Chakma’s side underlined their dominance by winning convincingly to finish unbeaten with 10 victories from 10 matches and the maximum 30 points.
Heading into the final day, Rajshahi, Farashganj and Bangladesh Army were all in contention. A defeat for Rajshahi, combined with victories for Army and Farashganj, would have left all three sides level on 27 points and forced a play-off. Rajshahi’s emphatic win ensured there was no need for complex permutations.
Bangladesh Army, who had been consistent throughout the season, held firm in a competitive first half. However, Rajshahi broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart when Alpi Akter calmly finished from a right-wing cross.
Fifteen minutes later, Shaheda Akter Ripa doubled the advantage with a powerful angled strike after a cross from Rituparna. The captain then sealed the result herself late on, adding a third goal to confirm the title in style.
Army attempted to respond but struggled to test national goalkeeper Rupna Chakma. Although Army’s Mili Akter made several impressive saves, defensive lapses and Rajshahi’s clinical finishing proved decisive.
Backed by Nabil Group and featuring several national team players alongside a Nepal international, Rajshahi Stars dominated the competition from start to finish, celebrating a historic unbeaten championship triumph.
