District Returning Officer and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Sarwar Alam has reported an average voter turnout of 20% across the six parliamentary constituencies in Sylhet district.
He stated that by 11:45am, voter turnout ranged from 17-18% at some polling stations, while others saw 22%. Overall, the average turnout stood at 20%.
He further added, “So far, no untoward incidents have occurred in Sylhet. The situation remains normal.”
Sylhet district has a total voter population of 2,916,579, with 1,498,953 male voters and 1,417,610 female voters.
Additionally, there are 32 third-gender voters in the district.
