An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck along the boundary between Bangladesh and India, early Tuesday.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the tremor occurred at 4:36am.

The epicenter was located about 16 kilometres northwest of Satkhira in Bangladesh and 36 kilometres east of Habra in West Bengal.
