Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested a drug dealer with 3,000 yaba tablets from Uttara Westof Dhaka.
The arrested individual has been identified as Abdur Rahim. The news was confirmed on Monday in a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman PPM, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
DB sources said a specialised team of DB-Gulshan, acting on a tip-off, raided the Shah Fateh Ali bus counter area near Abdullahpur Bus Stand in Uttara West and captured Abdur Rahim.
During the operation, officers recovered 3,000 yaba tablets and three mobile phones used in drug dealings.
According to DB-Gulshan, Abdur Rahim is an active member of a drug trafficking network. Interrogation revealed that he had been collecting yaba from various areas and distributing it across Dhaka for a long period.
The police also stated that a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Uttara West Police Station, and he has been sent to court.
